Cross Creek Ranch Pre-Wedding Photos

This was my first visit to Cross Creek Ranch near Plano, and a lovely setting it was. You would never guess you were so close to a major city as it feels like, well, a ranch. It was a fun afternoon with this easy-going couple and the bride is as down-to-earth as she is beautiful, if you can believe that.

The Artist's Family

Everything about this dear friend of mine is artsy, and although I've known her for almost 2 decades, her artistic flair never ceases to amaze me. So, very appropriately, we took these pictures at the Dallas Museum of Art right before Christmas. (Note the cute headbands that my friend sat and casually stitched for her girls during our last book-club.) Also note how super-duper cute my baby God-daughter is!!

Another Sweet Family

I really was happy to take this family's photos as they run a Montessori school in Irving and this year my son, Peter, has really benefitted from it's Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program.  My favorites are the ones of mom and dad--they really are that cute. :)

The rest of OC mini sessions

 Oak Cliff mini's continued...

What do lots of curls, lots of smiles and a lot of love make?  A really cute family.  The hair alone makes for good pictures. :)

All right, take a look at these two little guys in the next family!! Twins may be a lot of work, but they are also twice as adorable.

I think that the best friend I made in Oak Cliff was with the four-year-old belonging to this next family. From the moment we met we were old buddies and he chatted away with me the whole time.  The best was when he told me how much hair his little brother had.

This last family in Oak Cliff didn't really need the help, but the light during the session made the photos all the more beautiful.  I love these pictures.

Okay, okay, these last couple photos weren't taken in Oak Cliff, but I have taken pictures of these close family friends for several years and we don't ever make a big to-do of it. They sit down, I snap a few shots, and we're done.  So, even though they weren't part of the Oak Cliff weekend, our session was so quick they're going to get tacked on to it!  Until next year, guys!

Mini sessions in Oak Cliff

I had the great privilege of doing 12 sessions in Oak Cliff a couple of weeks ago. Each session was 30 minutes long and I was really pleased with the pictures we got. More then that, I really enjoyed meeting so many families and our brief interactions. So, let's take a look!

The first family was probably the quickest one of the day. I love the bright glasses! Some of my favorites pictures of the day were due to the littlest guy's rebellion toward the end of the session: if only being difficult was always so cute!
If the first family was the quickest, the second was the easiest. I love the way these pictures evoke a sense of quiet confidence on behalf of this young lady.

I can tell you why the two little ones look so happy in this next session. It's because they had a really playful and fun mom and dad! I think they have lots of happiness in store for them. I really like the light in the last picture. (And the way the last two pictures have the same thing going on. :))

I got a little carried away with this next 6 year old--but this little girl had the gappiest, cutest, smile EVER!!
I loved that the bright blue and the dark brown of these two brother's eyes. You wouldn't know it by looking at the pictures, but the blue-eyed brother actually had a stomach bug during this photo session. Again, if only we could all look so cute being sick!
The next session was unique during the weekend because it was of a young engaged couple. This couple had a lot of parallels as my husband and I--at least in as far as he attended the same high school as my husband, and she and I went to the same university. They will also be married in the same church as my husband and I. Here's to much happiness!!!
In the next family, this little girl had energy!! She was running circles around us big people. Somehow, though, that energy translated into really cute pictures. Ironically, the lollypop bribe she earned made for mom and dad's favorite picture!
This next family was really nice to work with. Mom and Dad were so relaxed and easy-going and their daughter was all smiles and giggles.
